Levelized cost of electricity for the deployment of solar photovoltaic plants: The region of León (Spain) as case study

In the current context of mandatory growth renewable energy sources for electrical supply, in order to reduce CO2 emissions process electricity generation, it is worth interest evaluate feasibility deployment new large solar photovoltaic production facilities. This study seeks analyze costs and benefits this type infrastructures, considering region León (Spain) as case due its high potential. The Levelized Cost Energy used main decision tool, so a sensibility on indicator has been carried out, including financial rates, capital operation expenditures, facilities performance expected life span installations. Three locations have selected region, close power demand sites, minimize distribution losses between plants end-users. Results show that an LCOE range 0.21 0.26 €/kWh can be achieved. simplified calculation presented allows preliminary quick assessment grid parity plant where they are not known detail.
